Slept OK, the 3 of us. Penny doesn't fuss too much during the nappy change anymore, and feeds well at about 4am. She woke for another bottle at 8am, on the dot. Melissa provided the bottle that I lovingly prepared and then we, all 3 of us, went back to sleep until 10am. It was a lovely lie in. For some more than others :
I'll obviously get into trouble for posting that, but I thought it was a lovely photo.
That done, the door went, it was the postman with a parcel addressed to Penelope. I tried to stop Melissa from opening it, but she insisted, claiming Penny wouldn't be able to manage it. Stifling the child's abilities already, I don't know. It was a very lovely name sign to hang on the door of Penny's room. Once it's been painted it's going straight up. Thanks very much to aunty Ashley, uncle Tim and cousin Emma in Canada.
I prepared some crumpets for breakfast and we quickly got ready (it took 90 minutes) and headed up to Aintree, to Screwfix, to pick up a rather large parcel that contains the shower curtain rail. I'm pretty sure it's installation will involve drilling into porcelain tiles. So that's moderately terrifying. I have confidence in my father, Penny's granddad's ability. Sort of.
After we'd collected that we went to see Lorraine, a friend of Melissa's and then came home to greet Kate who'd come to visit with 'baby' Sophia. I've put "baby" inverted commas because she's frigging massive compared to the last time we saw her and she's only 4 months old. A proper little human being. Scary.
That done we went for tea at the in laws, then showers, then home via (the) ASDA for some more Aptamil for Penny and some bottled ales for me. Melissa bathed Penny while I cowered in fear because of the screaming and we're currently awaiting a Skype date with aforementioned Canadians, and the who knows what the rest of the evening may hold.
See you tomorrow!
