Day 172

I got a text message from Melissa at 6:14am saying they were ready to come home. Naturally I was well asleep. Having built the crib and what not I went to bed at 11pm and slept pretty much all night.

At about 10:30am I went to pick up my father in law and we headed into Wigan to pick up the tiles for the bathroom. Then he dropped me at his house to have a shower and I headed up the hospital. On the way I stopped at Hooters to get the car washed for little baby Penelope.

Melissa got some final hints and tips and we headed off to take our baby home and be a little family.

Snug as a bug in a rug in her car seat. Aww. We got home to find my mother in law cleaning and tidying and my father in law clearing shit out the garden. The City Link brought a lovely gift from my mate Stewart. We were genuinely moved. Then Melissa and her mother then set about sorting out the baby clothes we'd accrued over the previous months while I headed to (the) ASDA for like, baby milk, a changing mat... and other stuff we didn't have.

I came home, Melissa sorted the baby out and then me, my father in law and Davy and Andrea Gough and their daugher Sophie headed to the pub for a wee drinky.

We came back, had something to eat and then came home.

Sleepy time for all of us. Well, I say that, but Melissa is catching up on Big Brother and I'm sat here typing this.

I'll be back tomorrow including : How she slept though her first night and when the midwife came to visit.

Have a great weekend!
