Day 162

I watched Se7en last night. It's a fantastic film, with a lovely glass of water.

Back to work today. Yay. As of now, Melissa has only 3 days left in work. Bitch.

I met her at lunchtime after her aquanatal class and we went to see the blind woman (she sells blinds, I assume her eyesight is fine) and got some rough estimates to replace the blinds the cats have trashed, then we went to see the carpet man. He quoted us £130 for some alright carpet, fitted. It wasn't quite what we wanted, so we said we'd let him know, in lieu of any other offers. Secretly though, we weren't happy.

After work we went into Aintree, to Next Home to pick up a curtain pole and light shade (both out of stock) and then into Carpet Right. We met a man in there called Kevin Flynn (honestly) and he was very helpful. Pointed us in all sorts of useful directions and helped us make up our minds. We went for a nice white (suicide, really) carpet for the baby's room for £110 fitted, and they should be here on Monday to do that. We also spotted a laminate flooring we like for the hall and kitchen, which was dead cheap so that's good too.

After that we got home to find this :

This might not look like much to you, but to us this was a sign that some work had been done today. The exterior of the house is now complete. Furthermore the, the dining room is almost complete. Skirting boards have been replaced and a step has been laid. Just need to paint the skirting boards now, and we're done in there. I think.

Yay.

Right, that's Tuesday done. Melissa is in bed feeling very hormonal and achy. I'm going to avoid that lethal combination by watching a film.

See you tomorrow.
