Day 153

Despite being a mess last night I was awake and up by 8:30am, Melissa not much later than me. She seemed to feel worse than I did. This pregnancy lark is for the birds.

We went up the in laws for showers and upon leaving Melissa swore that "we're not coming home without a crib". We headed to Warrington, to The Baby Store to pick up out cot mattress and ISO fix car seat holder base thing, then on to Babies R Us where we bought a baby bath and a dragon. Then to Next, and then to Speke (from Warrington) to Mamas and Papas and a different Next. We picked up some bits and bobs at all these places. In Speke we got some cat litter, I bought a t shirt, had a look at some blinds, some cushions... Afterwards we headed headed home, obviously without a crib.

It was stupid warm again today, and sticky, and showering for the second time was not fun for either of us. Melissa's ankles are ruined and she's constantly uncomfortable, especially when it's warm.

Nevertheless, we readied ourselves and head into Parbold for dinner at The Wayfarer with some friends from work to celebrate Ellen's hen do, and Melissa's pregnancy. It wasn't as good a turn out as we'd expected, but in the end Lee, Helen, Mattie, Ellen, Tina and Vicky were there. I can't remember what anyone else had to eat, I just remember someone had ribs which were incredible, Melissa had fish which looked excellent, and I had smoked salmon to start, chicken, ham and mushroom risotto for my main and this for dessert:

It's a rhubarb fool crumble and it was amazing. I'm paying for it now though. I'm just a big sweaty, full mess.

I've a feeling the hangover I should have had today will kick in tomorrow morning and I'll be a mess all day. Also, Melissa has a "funny feeling" she'll go into labour this week. So that'll be exciting!

I'm going to sit here sweating for a bit, then join Melissa in bed for Penn and Teller from last night. Then sleep.

See you tomorrow!
