Day 143

Well, slept OK, woke at about 4am, went for a wee, and then had some scary dreams in which I was really angry about something. Woke up and went to work.

Thursday today, not Friday. Shame.

Work was alright, a little slow. It's been a quiet week. Bought a high chair for the baby. It matches the décor of the dining room which you guys haven't seen yet. But you will. Soon.

Melissa picked me up at 3:30pm and brought me home. The gas man had worked his socks off. The shitty pipework in the dining room had been cleaned up, the toilet plumbed in and the bath drainage sorted. While I was there he drilled the taps in and plumbed them up and we now have running water in a room that can legally be called a bathroom.

So close we can taste it. He's coming back Monday to do the sink, which will be a revelation to behold. Then tiles, then boxing in, then showering and shitting upstairs in our own house. Woo!

Then we flew up to Mel's mum and dads, threw down chilli and headed into Ormskirk hospital for our first antenatal class (AKA how to be a parent). It was a little over an hour long and genuinely useful and interesting. This baby is slowly but surely becoming a reality. I'm not scared yet, but we did go to (the) ASDA on the way home to buy nappies and Swarfega. I also bought some beers. To take the edge off.

Melissa is currently christening the new toilet, and shortly I will sup a beer and watch Sherlock from last night.

See you tomorrow evening!
