Joined Melissa in bed and watched the end of CSI Miami. They caught the killer, not through exciting technology methods or science, but because he had a sawed off shotgun and a holdall with a million dollars in it in his office. If only it were that easy in real life.
Up at 9:30am. A proper lie in. We both slept. Very exciting. The rash and itching seems to have really eased up now which is awesome.
Mother in law came round at a little before midday and we got to work cleaning out the dining room. That done she set to work wall papering the feature wall. Pictures will be shown when the room is complete and not a moment before. While this was going on Melissa went up to Wigan to pick up some more paint for the baby's room as, when she applied a test section we realised we'd need two coats, and it's from a discontinued line. Fortunately Homebase in Wigan had 2 tins, so we bought another one. Two tins should be plenty. I've removed the steel framed bed from the spare room and put in the loft. Shit that was heavy. The mattress, however, is heavier than a neutron star. I've no idea what we're going to do with that.
Melissa got to work painting the woodwork in the hall and up the stairs and I applied the second coat to the bathroom ceiling. Much to my chagrin it's going to need a third coat. Worse still, I'm going to have to do it mega early tomorrow so that it dries before my dad arrives to fit the light in there. We've also coerced my mother into helping to paint the walls of the dining room. I've a horrible feeling one coat isn't going to be enough. But it's not a discontinued line so there's no rush on that.
We've been and showered and now Melissa is going to watch some TV crap while I watch a film and enjoy a well earned Bulmer's pear cider.
See you tomorrow.
