Day 129

Thursday. Friday's so close I can taste it.

We both slept very well until little Bella tried to get into the wardrobe by scratching her claws on the stainless steel frame at 3:30am. That's a horrible noise to wake up to.

Melissa was back in work today, well rested but still a little itchy. She finished early to go and get her hair done and her eyebrows did (she looks lovely). She also invested in some coal tar soap after some extensive internet research. It's apparently an effective treatment for pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (which is what's causing the itching and is also known as PUPPPs for short (and cute)). Touch wood has been moderately effective. Not as effective as aqueous cream from the fridge, but that's another story. The most effective treatment is a strong steroid cream but the doctor is reluctant to prescribe this.

Plasterers have completed the ceiling and will be back tomorrow to complete the walls. The conservatory is still leaking, but we think we know where the problem is and they're going to have a crack at that tomorrow.

This evening I'm going to have a beer or two (first and second of the week) and watch a film. I think I want to watch Kick Ass but we'll see. Melissa is in bed, excited about Dynamo, whose advertising campaign has been similar to that of Gabbo, but I don't find it nearly as enticing.

See you tomorrow evening...!
