Saturday morning I rose at 7am with Melissa who was due in work. I thought I might die due to the frankly unnecessary hangover that the bottle of wine I'd drunk on Friday night was definitely responsible for. I nodded back off and re-arose at a little after 9am.
I dived out of bed, still not 100% but on a mission to get to The Concourse before everyone else to collect the mouse I'd cannily reserved at Argos the night before. The walk wasn't too bad. It was nice and cool and this really helped soothe the hangover woes.
I got home and made some tea and toast and once that had been consumed I started to feel a lot better. I cleaned the kitchen and hoovered the house in time for Melissa's return from work. She caught up on some TV and I caught up on reading, then, when Melissa decided it was time for a nap she came upstairs and I played some CODBO for a bit.
After that we both got ready and headed out to The Chinese Buffet in Wigan with Tracy and Dave for some all-you-can-eat fun and games. After food we headed to the other side of Wigan to pop into Revolution for a drink. I haven't been "out" for ages, and the experience in Revolution reminded me why. It was loud, expensive and populated with dickheads (not us four, obviously). We had one in there and headed home.
Sunday morning. Melissa is on call today. Last Sunday when she was on call she spent most of the day in work and we expected the same thing today, but when the usual call at 7am didn't wake us we managed to sleep in until 9:30am. Result.
I made tea and toast and Howard and myself went out on our bikes to a place called Elnup Wood. It was, I won't lie, horrible. The weather was atrocious and the paths were incredibly muddy and steep in some places. Add that to my unbelievable lack of health and you've got 4.7 miles of torture. In all honesty it wasn't that bad, except for the weather, mud and terrain. I rode for most of the way but by the end my lower back was really sore and I had to push up the final gruelling hill. I feel good though. Obviously I won't tomorrow when I'm unable to move.
Howard dropped me home, I showered and Melissa and I watched Sleeping Beauty, then we headed to (the) ASDA for provisions for the week.
Home, now, and Melissa is going to have a bath, then cook the tea for us, and then I don't know what we'll do. I suspect CODBO for me, for a while, if I'm not too tired.
I didn't take my phone on the bike ride because it was raining and I didn't want to break it, so therefore I didn't take any photos. Here is a photo of my new mouse, instead. It's the first new mouse I've bought in over 10 years.
