I did watch Spider-Man 2. It was good.
Slept well and went out to get crumpets for breakfast. They were good. Then, at 1pm we were on the road to Sawley to meet my mum and dad for mothers birthday treat. We stayed at a lovely 'inn' called The Spread Eagle. The village was tiny but it was absolutely heaving with people who'd come to celebrate May day, not by burning a man alive in a huge wicker structure, but by doing some sort of scavenger hunt around the ruins of the abbey. I don't know.
Dinner was delicious (good cheese board) and the evening was topped off by a glass of Bill Murray's favourite Japanese whiskey, Suntory. It was alright. Never again though.
Due to it being an early meal, we were all in bed by about half 9. There wasn't a local night club, much to ourt chagrin. We watched the good bit of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls (the car chase scene) and then turned over to watch Road Wars, an old favourite of mine and Melissa's. We both slept badly due to the heat in the room, and the tiny tiny bed. But I'd go back there as it was a lovely place.
All in all it was a lovely way to spend birthday with my Mother who is somehow still only 19 years old. Thank to my parents for a lovely time.
Day 63
Woke up, had the obligatory full English breakfast and headed out. We made very good time and were queuing in (the) ASDA by midday. We nipped home to see the cats, and then we headed up to the in-laws to spend the day in the garden. I got bored so Judy said I could burn some stuff, and then when I ran out of stuff to burn I was allowed to BBQ.
Came home just now, still unusually early. It feels like about 7pm, but it's not even half 5. I'm going to have a shower to wash of the burning smell off me, and then Melissa and I are going to settle down with a film I think. Maybe Spider-Man 3. Although I might be pushing my luck.
