Last night I watched The Truman show. Very good, shorter than I remembered and still very relevant. Perhaps even moreso.
Today was Tuesday, as indicated by the heading above. And it was, by and large, uneventful. I finished the monotonous task mentioned yesterday. I really found my flow and it was completed by lunchtime. Excellent.
This evening, Howard and myself were due to be going to Salford Quays to see Richard Herring's standup show "Christ On a Bike 2 : The Second Coming". Howard was due to pick me up and we were supposed to head out there at about 5:30. At 5:15 I received a phone call from Him. He said "My fucking car's been broken in to". Fortunately he didn't have anything of value in his car (before or after the break in) other than his tax disc, so drove to my house, left the car here, and I would drove us to Salford. He phoned the police, they said some stuff of which I do not know the intricacies and while I drove to Salford he tried to sort out his insurance. Those closed at 8pm and he lost signal just as he got through to an adviser (there was an "unusually high call volume").
We parked up in Salford Quays at about 7pm and hastened to an eatery. It was essentially a takeaway curry house, which was very reasonably priced. They also validated parking tickets, which meant we got free parking, although, in one way or another I'm sure I'll be paying for it tomorrow morning.
Food eaten, was made the short journey over the plaza to the Lowry Arts Centre leaving just enough time for us to get a coffee (I'm regretting that now) and find out seats.
The show was excellent. Very funny, well performed and thought provoking. And he said some rude words too. Afterwards I bought a book, which Mr Herring kindly signed for me and it now sits proudly alongside my signed Stewart Lee book.
Car retrieved, we headed home. Howard's car was where we left it, and he's taken it back to his house. I'm sitting in my optimally configured underpants enjoying a Jack Daniel's and writing this.
Tomorrow is my last day in work before Easter. It's sure to drag hideously.
Good night!
