Day 27 - Saturday March 26th 2011

Woke up at about 4am to find the little cat stuck on top of the wardrobe. Awesome.

Woke up again at about 7:30am to have a wee. Awesome.

Woke up again at about 9am and felt ready to face the day. I'll admit now though that I was in a shitty mood for most of the day, mainly due to a poor nights sleep. Wife made me tea and toast so that was nice, then the mother in law came round to help with a bit of a spring clean.

The conservatory was full of shit from Christmas and some leftovers from renovations we did towards the end of last year. MiL and Wife spring cleaned the kitchen and made space for my epic collection of Starbucks mugs and all the new stuff we got for our wedding (plates, pots, pans, champagne). While all this was going on I fettled around in the conservatory and carted something like 20 glass bricks out to the car, along with a bunch of cardboard boxes full of Christmas wrapping paper. Once this was done I ventured into the "lean to" building.

This is a grotty wooden structure that sits on the side of our house. It's warm, but also humid and damp-smelling. Before we moved in I had grand plans to turn it into a cinema room complete with projector and surround sound system but alas it was not to be as it was a hazard. Indeed the property surveyor suggested we knock it down. We didn't though. We just filled it with a thousand cardboard boxes and renovation debris. Today though, we cleaned it out.

3 trips to the tip later, we were done. The only things left in there are my drum kit (anyone wanna buy a drum kit?) and some of the wife's bits and bobs that she doesn't know she's even got but when I suggest we throw them out she insists she needs. I dont envy my muscles tomorrow. They won't know what's hit them.

This evening we had a well deserved Chinese (healthy eating be damned) and watched the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy (Callie and Arizona omg wtf!?) before settling down to watch the multi Oscar nominated film Awakenings from 1990 starring Robert DeNiro and Robin Williams (and the woman that does Marge's voice from The Simpsons and "that girl from Kindergarten Cop"). It was good.

Wifey's now in bed, and I'm going to have some more wine and catch up on 30 Rock.

See you tomorrow!
