Brief catchup - I had to pick the wife up from work at 8pm, so I left the house far too early as usual and sat waiting in the car for her for about 20 minutes listening to Depeche Mode's album Violator. On the way home we went via her parents house, which isn't really on the way home, but we promised we'd check on things while they're away. We had also been told there was a baby-related gift waiting for us from relatives in Canada. Sure enough there was.
Now, we'd had the scan and been given a picture of our actual baby, and it was a bit... weird. But the idea of having a baby didn't actually hit home for me until I saw the baby-grow (which is what I believe they're called). As soon as the wife took it out of the wrapping paper a strange sensation came over me. Perhaps it was some sort of moment of clarity. Anyway it soon passed, as on the way home "Personal Jesus" came on the stereo and I like that song.
We went to bed at 9pm to watch One Born Every Minute on Channel 4, research, innit. It finished at 10pm, I was asleep by 10:15pm and slept right through until 6:30am when my alarm went off.
I walked into work, takes about 15 minutes, and it was lovely, if not a little bit cold.
Work was predictably work like, nothing really very exciting to report. Although I seem to have been roped into a charity book sale for Comic Relief in 3 weeks time. I spent about 30 minutes sorting through books for Vicky at work and moving them from one place to another. It was fantastic.
Cooking my lovely wife a roast dinner for tea, though I think I've knackered the roasting dish, so the spuds might in fact kill us.
Ooo... A cliffhanger!
